Robust Engineering Services completed the removal and transport of a 5-ton single-girder top-running overhead crane at Brandt Developments’ Lethbridge facility in Alberta.
The crane was safely disassembled using high-reach forklift and scissor lift access, removed from the runway, transported to a designated off-site storage location, and staged on the ground per the owner’s requirements.

Scope of Work
The project scope consisted of the complete removal of the overhead crane from its existing runway and transport to an alternate storage facility.
Execution
Disassembly and Removal
- Disconnected power bars from the electrical feed
- Disconnected and removed the bridge motors
- Disconnected the hoist and trolley, then removed the assembly from the crane
- Removed the crane from the runway
Transport and Storage
- Loaded the crane components onto transport and delivered to the designated storage site
- Staged and stored on the ground in accordance with the owner’s instructions
Documentation and Certification
All work was performed by qualified and competent trade personnel under the direction and control of a professional engineer.
